The Business

AutoProtect is a leading provider of finance and insurance (F&I) products to the motor industry in the UK and Europe.   AutoProtect’s products are sold and administered through over 2850 motor dealers and four call centres across the region.

The Challenge

Firstly, to support rapid growth and expansion whilst containing operational cost, by automating and replacing paper based processes.  This included:

  • enabling motor dealers to improve service to their own clients with real-time policy sales and amendments over the web, subject to appropriate controls;
  • providing AutoProtect’s new business agents with the tools to customise products and load new business deals whilst out on the road to radically reduce the number of hand-offs in the process and achieve greater quality and speed;
  • replacing disparate systems with a single integrated solution to remove confusion and potential for error.

Secondly, to support AutoProtect’s expansion into the corporate motor dealer market with:

  • fast, efficient creation of unique products custom-designed to suit the specific dealer or manufacturer’s needs;
  • a range of reports on F&I sales, tailored to  the dealer group’s particular organisational sales structures and incentive schemes.

The Solution

A complete, business-to-business insurance sales and administration system, comprising:

  • A functionally rich but easy-to-use Web-based module underpinned by a sophisticated rules engine for new business agents to design and load new business agreements, customise products and adjust pricing.
  • A functionally rich but user-friendly web-based module for motor dealers and call centres to make policy sales and amendments, based on the customised products and business agreement applicable to each distributor.    This module is currently running in over 18 languages across the UK and Europe.
  • Numerous interfaces to third party and client dealer management systems, premium collection and motor trade data systems.
  • Extensive reporting, performance dashboards and a business intelligence suite available to motor dealers and new business agents over the web.
  • A back-end system with administration tools for AutoProtect’s claims, policy administration, invoicing and accounting, underwriting and regulatory reporting.
  • A rules management console for the underwriting team and executive to manage the underlying rules engine and deal with exceptions.
