InnoSys was founded in 2007 by Jenny Retief in partnership with BB&D, South Africa’s largest independent custom software development company.
After many years experience in insurance systems including seven years as Head of Group IT for the Hollard Insurance Group, it was clear to Jenny that there was a gap in the market for a software development company that could combine strong insurance domain knowledge with topflight technical software design and development skills.
Many insurers were struggling with long, expensive package customisation cycles and not succeeding fully in implementing the systems needed to enable innovative products and approaches.
Jenny was joined by highly experienced insurance systems project managers, systems analysts, programmers and executives and with the backing of BB&D, InnoSys was founded to provide custom-built software solutions to the insurance industry.
InnoSys Bulgaria was established soon thereafter to provide an Eastern European-based development centre, following the company’s success in the UK and European markets.
InnoSys is owned jointly by BB&D and InnoSys management and is based at the BB&D Group head office in Johannesburg. InnoSys has a proud black economic empowerment record and is certified as a Level 2 BEE contributor.
